The 2016 FIVB World Grand Prix Group 1 involves 12 teams playing three preliminary round weekends with each team playing nine total matches (three per weekend). The top five teams in the preliminary round plus the Final Round host (Thailand in 2016) will compete for the overall title in a round-robin format.
The U.S. will host a pod of the second preliminary round weekend June 17-19 with No. 5 Japan, No. 10 Turkey and No. 11 Germany joining the Americans in Long Beach, California.
June 17: Japan vs. Turkey at 5 p.m.; USA vs. Germany at 7 p.m.
June 18: Turkey vs. Germany at 5 p.m.; USA vs. Japan at 7 p.m.
June 19: Japan vs. Germany at 5 p.m.; USA vs. Turkey at 7 p.m.
